If it had been probable to edit my previously reply I'd change the introduction in the “Oval P” stamp to go through “not observed right up until 1910 or afterwards.” So the 1913 date is a great in shape.

A very powerful notable advancement about the Henry was the addition of your Nelson King’s patented cartridge loading gate program which allowed for any shut magazine tube plus a Wooden forend. The Design 1866 fired a similar .
Depending on what I've observed and skim in other resources, the oval (P) evidence mark wasn't launched till 1908. Previous to that point, Winchester marked “OF” (exterior fitted) on The underside of the barrel under the forend stock for the mail Winchester firearms online ordering process purchase barrels. I have see several of these on Product 1885 Solitary Shot Rifles that predate 1908.
